A Plain Deck with Untapped Potential

Before the renovation, this deck was a blank canvas with so much unused potential. The open layout and wooden surface gave it a basic, functional feel, but it lacked personality and comfort. It wasn’t the kind of space where you’d want to spend hours relaxing or entertaining guests. The simple folding chairs and bare setup worked for quick meals, but it didn’t invite anyone to stay longer.

With no shade or privacy, the deck felt exposed and a bit uninviting, especially on sunny or windy days. It was clear that the space needed thoughtful touches to make it cozier and more practical. We wanted a transformation that would turn this plain deck into a welcoming retreat—a place our family could truly enjoy all year round.
