Travel Solo, Have a Blast! 15 Must-Visit Destinations for Women Exploring on Their Own
Chiang Mai, Thailand

Thailand offers a wealth of experiences, from stunning beaches and delicious food to exotic animals and vibrant floating markets. Loredana Gogoescu, head of content for Destguides.com, shares that she felt safe in Thailand from the moment she arrived. "The Thai people are incredibly hospitable and kind," she says, adding that as a solo traveler, she was never really alone. "I had to book a private room just to get some quiet time, as I was constantly meeting new people," she laughs, highlighting the social and welcoming atmosphere.
One of Gogoescu’s favorite destinations was Chiang Mai in northern Thailand, known for its night markets, historic temples, and the Elephant Nature Park, a sanctuary for rescued elephants. She also recommends taking a day trip to Pai, a charming village in Mae Hong Son province, not far from Chiang Mai. For those new to solo travel or traveling abroad, Gogoescu suggests planning all logistics, such as accommodations and transportation, in advance to make the transition smoother. "If you're worried about being alone, consider using apps like Bumble or joining Facebook groups for solo female travelers to connect with others in the area," she advises.
